Puzzlewood, Forest of Dean

(Click for more photos)

We went to Puzzlewood in the Forest of Dean today for my birthday. It’s so magical! Probably the most beautiful place I have ever been and it’s just round the corner from where we live! I really don’t think about it too much but it really is beautiful round here.

The landscape at Puzzlewood is amazing, it’s like stepping into an alien world! I took lots of photos, but really you have to see it to believe it. It had me in complete awe!

I also got to geek out a little as I know part of The Force Awakens,  the upcoming Star Wars movie was filmed there and the BBC’s Merlin and also some Doctor Who have also been filmed there and you can completely see why!

Seriously if you are ever in Gloucestershire Go and take a look for yourself. It’s like stepping into a fairytale

Walter Wolf

After the making of Mr fox I fell in love with Son’s Popkes patterns. Sonja is a very talented artist and I admire her creations alot so go and look and buy patterns because she’s awesome.

My friend asked me to make her a crochet wolf and I knew exactly where to go for the pattern. The pattern also had a little cape for him which I didn’t make as she wanted him without clothing but it’s super cute. He’d also look nice with a little scarf like the fox.

I struggled to find a good range of wool colours as I usually do. I hate that I can never get the correct wool that I picture in my head and I am reluctant to buy online as I can’t see what I am getting. The tip of the tail is a darker grey but 3 shades of grey was too much to ask of my local craft shops. I do think he turned out very well and like most artists I am probably a bit over critical of my own work.
