STRESS RELIEF

I have my driving test on Thursday. I’ve been doing a 40 hour intensive course since last Monday. I haven’t picked it up very quickly and I have been so stressed out! I’ve found it really hard to focus on anything when I get home at the end of the day and my emotions have been all over the place! I’m not getting my hopes up for a pass on Thursday, but you never know.

I needed to make some Easter presents for my two nieces. I would buy them chocolate but they get so much of it and one of them isn’t keen on it. I’m not sure how any 9 year old girl can not like chocolate but there you go! I don’t think I have the concentration for crochet this week. I have hardly made anything as my mind is mostly with learning to drive. I really don’t feel like meticulously counting stitches etc. So I decided I’d do some needle felting which requires less heavy concentration AND I get to stab things… win-win!

I bought some polystyrene egg shapes a while back with the intention of making something for Easter. I thought rather than just making eggs I’d make them into little Easter bunnies. I’m really pleased with them and they’ve really helped me relax and take my mind off of my terrible driving. easter holidays rabbit bunny bunnies pink purple narcissus daffodil rainbow butterfly needle felting bees grass happy cute crafts handmade easter holidays rabbit bunny bunnies pink purple narcissus daffodil rainbow butterfly needle felting bees grass happy cute crafts handmade

Happy New Year!! (a bit late I know)

I hope everyone is feeling refreshed and ready to go again by now. I have to admit, it has taken me a while to get going. I’ve made a few bits and pieces over the holidays that I want to share with you, but it has taken well into the first week of the new year to get round to doing so. There’s nothing like a bit of procrastination after a major holiday and I am so good at it!

But to get myself out of this rut and to let you know I am still here intending to write this year I thought I better get on and show you something…

My sister wanted some fingerless gloves, I’ll share them because I am pretty sure she wont see this. But these are for her birthday. Because of the yarn I used they ended up different colours but I think they look quite nice like that. if you want to make some of your own the Pattern came from Crochet Dreamz on craftsy it was free when I posted this too!

I also made a Yoshi for my friend. with my new felting kit. Sadly I don’t see the felted stuff making its way onto the shop because of the time that goes into making stuff. I am going to crochet a Yoshi egg and put him inside.

I am new to needle felting so it was a bit of an experiment really. I quite like how he turned out though.

Fun with Felt!

I have been looking into felting for a while. I get so excited about all the things I could make and then really upset about what little materials you get for your money.

I really want  to make a garland with felt balls in lovely spring colours a little like the one above. It’s so pretty and colourful! The balls are quite expensive to buy so I considered making them but you need ALOT of the wool roving to make them.

Each time I think about it I go further and further back through the process to try and save money that it just gets silly. I live on a farm and I know there is some raw fleece around that no one is doing anything with. I thought maybe I could ask the farmer if I could have some to work with, but there’s alot of processing involved and I’m not sure I can be bothered with going that far back.

Basically I get in a huge loop of trying to decide what to do and I still can’t decide whether I should just bite the bullet and spend a bit more, spend hours processing wool or just forget it alltogether.

Of course this would be a really simple project and there’s alot of other things I’d love to make out of felt, but I thought this would be a nice first step
